Forming Partnerships

Woman on phone, child on couch Parents and providers can form partnerships when they have:

  • mutual respect for each other
  • two way communication
  • common goals for children

When providers develop these relationships with parents, they can help create positive early childhood experiences for young children and their parents.

Coming to your family child care program is a child's first significant experience away from home. Some children often need help with this transition from home to your program. They need to know that parents and the provider are working together to make the change from home to your program easier.
