Writing Activity

1. Keep a running list of the books you read in your family child care program.
2. In a word processing program, type how the children respond to each book. For example: How did you introduce each book? What children did the book appeal to? Why?

   Things that worked:

   I picked books about squirrels. We had seen squirrels on our walks to the park. The younger children liked the books with lots of illustrations.

   Things that didn't work:

   One child didn't come to the reading area immediately.

3. After you finish, print out what you wrote and give it to your tutor.

Help with the negative past tense ("did not", "didn't") is available.
