Writing Activity
- Keep a running list of the books you read in your family child care program.
- In a word processing program, type how the children respond to each book.
For example: How did you introduce each book? What children did the book appeal to? Why?
Things that worked:
I picked books about squirrels. We had seen squirrels on our walks to the park.
The younger children liked the books with lots of illustrations.
Things that didn't work:
One child didn't come to the reading area immediately.
- After you finish, print out what you wrote and give it to your tutor.
Help with the negative past tense ("did not", "didn't") is available.
