Writing Activity

Review the files that you keep on the children in your program. Write a paragraph and describe when and how you ask your parents to fill out and give you each form.

For example, "Parents must have their child's doctor fill out the Child's Health Record before a child can begin attending my family child care home."

After reviewing your children's files, write a second paragraph that describes the changes that you want to make in your practice of keeping children's files for your program.

For example, "I need to begin to keep copies of injury reports in each child's file."
