The daily schedule in your classrooms includes time called "free play." Below is a list of some areas and materials. Put a check beside the ones that you have in your classroom.

  1. In a word processing program, describe how you can help children to select their own materials and play. Write about some ways that you can set up your classroom during free play. For example:

    We put cars in the block area so that children will want to build pretend roads and play with cars.

  2. Save what you wrote in your disk portfolio or, if you are using the Learner Web, save it in your workspace.
